As part of an ongoing relationship with DoubleTree by Hilton, we redesigned the bar, lobby and restaurant (We Are EDN) at the brand’s Amsterdam Centraal Station hotel. The design challenge was twofold: create a space that felt rooted in nature and capture the bold, creative energy of Amsterdam.

To achieve this, we drew from a palette of forest green, terracotta orange and natural wood tones. In the lobby, a huge artwork made of recycled fabric injects a jolt of extra colour. Art also played a central role in the overall design process. We collaborated closely with Veitenheimer Art Consultancy to curate a collection of artworks that would complement the interiors. Highlights include a mural by Jordy van den Nieuwendijk and works by Simone Poste, Evan Powell, Simon Moore, and Raquel Rodrigo—each piece carefully chosen to contribute to the identity of the space.

We also incorporated the iconic Amsterdam X motif, using it in room dividers, lighting and table details to create a sense of continuity. Together, these design choices situate guests in the heart of the city, but invite them to explore further. If you want to learn more, check out the We Are EDN case study here.
